We perused the menus and Breann and Joel immediately decided they were going to, however possible, take one of the menus home with them. They collect menus from restaurants and they even have several from the US. Jason and I thought it was hilarious, but I have to admit, their menus are pretty darn sweet. A wood board with a laminated menu strapped to it on either side. So funky.
We ordered a round of drinks and decided on what deliciousness we were going to eat. (Remember, all of our CDD restaurant dates are at places that none of us have been, or only some have been before.)
For starters we ordered 3 types of wings from their selection of like 12 or so. We ordered:

Russian Vodka Wings

Indian Butter Chicken Wings

And Canadian Maple Bacon Wings.
Of course the Maple Bacon ones were the BEST. So good. The others were tasty as well. We always talk about having a Wing Week. Where we go to a different restaurant that has a cheap wing night every night for a week and try a bunch of different kinds. There has never been a general overall consensus on the topic between the four of us, but it has been brought up a least a few times. Would be an interesting experience to say the least.
For the main meals, everyone but me ordered a burger of some variety. Breann got the Poutine Burger with a side of rice.
I got a chicken caesar wrap with french fries.
Jason got the Bacon Weave Burger with a side Cucumber Salad.
And Joel got the Memphis Burger with a side of V-Chips. He also got a side of Kamikaze sauce, because apparently it was supposed to be "hot."
There were no complaints from Joel this time about a burnt burger (see my post from the Knotted Thistle). And Breann ended up delegating parts of her burger to Joel and Jason to try. She was also very much enjoying her Arnold Palmer drinks. Ha! Jason devoured his burger like there was no tomorrow, but was a bit disappointed with his cucumber salad.
However, the boys seemed to really enjoy the Kamikaze sauce. They were dipping everything they could find into it. V-chips, burger, fries, fingers, even cucumbers from the salad. There was about half the little dipping cup left of sauce and Breann bet Joel $5 to take the rest of the sauce and shoot it like a shot. He got his five bucks, because the below picture is proof he did it!
He didn't want me to take the picture because he didn't want anyone to see his face after he took the shot, but I told him I would only take a picture of him shooting it. Not afterwards. Besides, shooting it had like no effect to him. He said it was just "warm" afterwards. Oh, Joel.
We hadn't really planned on getting dessert, but then Breann found TABLE SMORES on the menu and we just HAD to have them. We order one and it was awesome. Just, awesome.
All the people at the tables around us were just staring when the waitress brought it out and we started roasting away. It was great. It was hard to roast the marshmallows though because the little fire pot thing wasn't quite hot enough at first. But it got better and was so DELICIOUS. Totally worth it.
At the end of supper we all agreed it was a great place to eat, and Breann left with her menu, no problem. I giggled the whole time. :)
Our next Culinary Dinner Date is scheduled for Monday, June 24th and Breann and Joel are cooking for us again. Sounds like the menu is going to included schnitzel. I'm excited!
Stay tuned! :)
