Breann and Joel arrived - with wine no less and to everyone's enjoyment. The boys immediately started discussing Bushwakker's Brewer's Dinner which was on Saturday to which Jason attended and Joel was cooking. Breann and I went to scheduling the next date and a couple of other events coming up in May.

Jason did a lot of the prep work and made the biscuits fresh, right before the appetizer was served.

The corn chowder was delicious. I've had it before as it is Jason's mom's recipe. We actually made the chowder the day before, as it always better the second day after all the flavours have had time to meld together more. Breann seemed to really like it... as she was the first one done! Ha :)
Jason was really eager to try the mustard crusted pork recipe and it turned out pretty good. Breann said the mustard flavour wasn't as noticeable as she would have liked, but it was still pretty darn good.
We all had a good giggle at Breann "not" liking sweet potatoes. In her defense, she doesn't not like them, she would just never go out of her way to make them herself, but she'll eat them if someone else makes them.

The dessert round was baked apples. Which took forever. And we kind of learned that we used the wrong apples. But that is okay, they still tasted delicious. We didn't know that Joel didn't like raisins, so he picked his all out. And then to make matters even more awkward/worse, the sticker was still stuck to his apple! I got teased relentlessly about that because apple prep was my job. Oh boy.
After dinner was over, we relaxed in the living room and visited until about 10 pm. It was a good evening! Our next CDD is a dinner out on Monday, May 27th and we're going to Birmingham's Ale House. It's a new place when The Hub used to be. Should be super tasty!
It's a ways away, like a whole month away, but May is really busy already! Stay tuned.
